Covid-19 in Singapore: A year on, recovered virus patient still can’t taste or smell

Ms Ong told The New Paper: “I was apologetic about the inconvenience I caused. But I was relieved that I didn’t infect anyone. “It has made me more cautious. I won’t be doing any visiting because I don’t need another ‘memorable’ Chinese New Year.”

A year on, she still avoids large crowds and even small gatherings, other than church services, and she keeps a diary of who she meets for contact tracing purposes.

She suffers from leftover Covid-19 symptoms such as loss of taste and smell but has learnt to live with it.

Singapore Air Trials Pre-Departure Covid Tests to Revive Travel

People flying from Singapore as well as those traveling to the city-state from Jakarta and Medan in Indonesia can take tests at clinics and get results within 36 hours. If negative, they can be used for travel, according to a statement from Collinson Group, which is working with Singapore Airlines on the program.

30 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore, including 1 in the community

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 30 new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Friday (Jan 15), said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in its preliminary daily update.

There is one locally transmitted case in the community. None were in foreign workers’ dormitories.

The remaining 29 cases are imported infections and were placed on stay-home notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Details of the cases will be released on Friday night, said MOH.

42 new imported COVID-19 cases in Singapore, highest in more than 9 months

This is the highest number of imported infections reported in Singapore since Mar 23 last year.

There were no locally transmitted cases.

Of the new cases, 40 were asymptomatic.

PM Lee Hsien Loong receives first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Friday (Jan 8), becoming the first member of Singapore’s Cabinet to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

Mr Lee received the jab along with Singapore General Hospital (SGH) staff at the official launch of vaccinations for healthcare workers.
